Default Minolta Dimage S404 -VS- Olympus C-4040Z

After much searching and many late hours into the night i think these two are looking like decent cameras to get.

Both around the same price and a decent set of features.
Can anyone reccomend one over the other for any reasons at all?!

I own the Olympus C4040 and it is a great camera. It has great optics and has a wide variety of manual functions. The camera can be purchased for a low price since the C5050 has hit the street. Check www.dealtime.com for prices and vendor ratings.

Be sure to check on S404 availability before spending too much time comparing, this camera has been difficult to get for a while now.

Thanks for the feedback

Yeah ive decided against both of those cameras now. Only slightly however.
The S404 as steve says is probably going to be impossible to get and all in all i need a more compact camera so the C-4040Z is a bit big.

Thus i definetly have it down to the Olympus D-40z or the Minolta Dimage F100

I leaning towards the minolta right now. Both cameras are about the same price though so its a bit awkward to choose!

deanimate,
If you are comfortable buying refurb 40 direct from Olympus thier online store has it for $399, do not know the current new street price.

Have not had any experience with refurbs but ultimately would rather a new one just in case.

Plus they're not too much more new so the cost isnt too bad
