Default Question about Adaptor for Canon A40

 Hello, I have a funny question, I just bought the Canon Powershot A40 and want to connect the camera to the computer. In the manual there is a picture of the Ac Adaptor that looks nothing like what I got. What I have is a cord with two prongs, one yellow, one black, and the other end looks like it plugs into the computer. IS this not the adaptor? Is the adaptor sold separately? Can I connect using batteries alone?

Thank you for answering my boring question,

Nat.

The Canon A40 does not come with an AC adapter. I think the cable you describe is the one used to hook the camera up to a TV.

That is correct. The cable you described is used to connect the A40 to a television to view the pictures on the TV using the video and sound input jacks. I got my AC adaptor at Circuit City.

I bought my daughter a Canon A40 for Christmas. It comes with a USB cord that connects the camera to the computer.
