Default NEED HELP !!! Canon i850 too much brightness

I just bought canon photo printer i850 couple days ago. I am quite impressed with its performance. After print several pic on canon photo paper plus glossy ($12.99 for 50 sheet) I notice that my new buddy has more brightness than it show in monitor. I tried several setting like intensity and brightness in printer driver but I did not notice any improvement (I used latest driver from canon website)

Do anyone have advice regarding this problem ?
Any help will greatly appreciated.

Which colors are true to image in the photo, the printer or the monitor? You can adjust brightness and contrast in the editing process.

You need to make sure your monitor is set correctly before comparing.

It is a black art to get them to look the same - sometimes I can and other times I'm buggered if I can.

Sometimes I tweak the picture itself and re-save as ****print version.jpg. This can work a treat.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
True image is showed by my monitor. I tried to adjust printer driver (it has intensity and brightness, see http://www.steves-digicams.com/2002_..._i850_pg3.html )
and the image is still too bright.

Is there anything I can do regarding this problem ?

How to calibrate manitor or printer so it will have same image quality ?
Thanks
