Default ext. warranty

I would agree with the "NO" opinion. I purchased a s602z Dec. 28 from Ritz. The "damage protection" would have been about $150 and I said "no thanks". Feb 28 I dropped it on the floor and jammed the lens (an extended warranty probably would not cover this type of damage anyway). Well the damage protection would have covered this but, over the last few years, given all the electronics I've purchased and warranties I've turned down, I'd still be ahead if I lost the whole camera. Besides, warranties and damage protections don't cover the "big loss", I'm without the camera for 4 to 6 weeks! Maybe it would have been better to have lost the whole camera, I'd have a new one by now.

Anyway, there's my 2 cents.

I would say not to buy it. I have been purchasing extended warranties on all my electronics. The only time I had to use it was when my computer hard drive failed. I originally payed 150 for a three year plan for the computer. The new hard drive at most cost them 60 dollars to replace. They still made out like a bandit with the plan I bought. I will never buy a plan again.
