Default Difference between Smart Media and Secure Digital Media card

Is a Smart Media card the same as a Secure Digital Media Card?

No

The SmartMedia is larger and older type currently limited to 128Mb. The Secure Digital Media Card (ie sD) is smaller, but newer type and can grow to larger density with 512Mb already widely available. The sD card is also slighly thicker than the MultiMedia Card (ie MMC) which it is compatible with...
