I got a hp M407 for Christmas last yearand on the way to my mom's house it fell between the seat and damaged the LCD screen. What I need to know is can that be replaced by a new LCD screen or do I have to get a whole new camera?? Please HELP!!:-?

Cost of LCD plus labor = new camera. The LCD screen is probably the most expensive part, next to the CCD. Since this is a $200 camera, the best option buy a new one.

Could I possibly replace it myself?? Where can I go to check out replacements?

P.S. Thanks for getting back to me.

That would be a manufacturer original part. You would not find it anywhere for sale. I don't think, you would evenwant to try to replace it yourself. Opening up a digital camera is about like opening, a Swiss watch.

I agree with Steve40. It is simply not practical, and probably not cost effect, to try and repair/replace the LCD screen.

You didn't say, but is the LCD functional? If it is still functional, then you could just live with it as is.

It looks like something scratched the screen and now you can't see anything. when you turn on the camera it shows a white screen with colored lines and where it is scratched at looks like a leaf.

Ever consider that there may be somrthing else wrong with the camera and that
it might be causing the problem! Might be wise to have company look at it if you
can get them to do free or at reasonableprice where it's so new.
