Thanks for all the reply's. I have a $300 gift card for Best Buy and I was hopeing to put it towards a nice 20" something in the $700 range.

a monitor over 17" requires a VERY HIGH screen resolution to produce a great image



the sony 17" is at 1280x1024 ppi (1.3 meg) and produces a great image



imo: this is the best monitor under $1500

Have been using Apple 23in HD LCD for 6 months. Super bright, needs to be dialed down to half brightness. No complaints or color management problems. Has very wide angle of view. I think 2x the Dell angle of view at same size. Connects via DVI and hasĀ* USB2 and FireWire 400 hub builtin.
