Default Any real difference between 3,4 & 5 mp?

Is there a real difference between 3 4 or 5 mp cameras?

Yes, there is a difference. Obviously, if you have a 5 megapixel photo, you can crop away 2 megapixels and still have a 3 megapixel file. Zoom capability may override the difference. Shapness of the lens, quality of the CCD, and the way the camera processes the files may also override the pixel size difference.

A professional 3 megapixel camera might produce photos which are much better than a pro-sumer grade 5 megapixel camera.

You have to look at the sample photos, study the reviews and camera features, and make a decision based on your needs and priorities.

I just got a 5Mb pixels digi-cam. Before I had a 2Mb pixels digi-cam. Like what Jim said, the diff can be quite obvious.

The following link are some of the pics I took from the 5Mb pixels digi-cam. No touch-up has been done. This is straight out from the camera...

Of course, i am still learning how to use this new toy 8)
