What about a tripod for my new Canon s2? Any suggestions? I'll be doing a lot of close macro shots. What about these little portable ones like I see on ebay. Worth anything? http://cgi.ebay.com/PRO-CASE-TRIPOD-...QQcmdZViewItem

damn, I had a nice long post about why you shouldn't buy that tripod, but I lost it when my browser went back a page and I lost it all.

Don't get it. for macro work you want flexable leg placement and the interconnecting metal between the legs will prevent that. Macro work might want to lay the tripod flat with the legs straight out in all directions. You can't do that with that tripod.

They put multiple items into the auction at once because they want it to look like a better deal. That right there is a sign that it isn't a good tripod.

You have to think about what you'll be shooting for macro and then what you'll need the tripod to enable that.

I would recommend going to a well-equiped camera store and checking out what a good tripod can do for you.
