I recently upgraded to an S2 from an A75. I could take macro shots all day long with the A75 and have them turn out great. But I seem to be struggling with the S2. My camera just can't seem to focus when taking macro shots. Is there a trick with the S2 when taking macro shots? I'm also wondering if I had better shots with the A75 because of the multipoint focus feature. Any tips would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem with my new S2 in macro mode. Sometimes it works great, sometimes won't focus. I don't know what setting to fix. Hope someone knows the answer.

Well since asking my question I found out my problem was that I was getting too close to my subject and should have been in super macro mode. I also had my camera set to continuous focus and was told to switch it to single. I practiced with those settings and my shots were much more clear. I have noticed that indoor lighting is a factor when in macro mode, well at least for me.

So how do you get to super macro mode?! I haven't found that yet. I too, wish the macro worked better in indoor light.
thanks,

thanks,
You have to hold down the Macro button for a few seconds. Once in super macro mode an S will appear inside the flower icon. Super macro does not work in all modes though. Check your manual to see which modes it works in. HTH!

Press the Macro (flower) button on side of lens to change focus modes. Note that Super Macro is limited to full wide angle only and covers from 3.9 to 0 (zero!) inches.

This might help a little bit too. All your choices are listed on the far left.
