I am going to the store to haggle tonight.

If they will chuck in an extra CF card then I might be tempted to buy.

I was reading comments by others in this forum on the softness issues with canons pics.

I then found a good review site with sample photos and a forum with helpful comments on the Canon A70.

http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/A70/A70A.HTM

I will not be looking at my prints or images on the screen with a magnifying glass like some people, so think this camera will do the job I want nicely.

If people are that fussy then shouldn't they be buying a camera that is more expensive?

Yes I encountered the same site/page on my travels round the web _ I have also somewhere encountered a fuller set of same pics and was very impressed with skin tones.

Default Well I have gone and done it.

Well I have gone and done it, I have bought the Canon A70. It was suprisingly painless really.

As I got there under half an hour before closing I haggled them out of a 64MB CF card as well.

Very pleased with my purchase, with get it out of the box and play tonight!

All I need to do now is get a CF reader cheap from ebay.

I am very pleased with this camera. It is really a ME camera.

I haven' taken too many pics as it has rained since I got it on Sunday. I am hoping for some sun this bank holiday weekend.

I find the camera very easy to use and love the pocket sized manual.

I had to buy a case as there was not one included.
I also invested in a card reader off ebay, dead cheap, to save on batteries as canon doesn't include a AC power adaptor.

I have tried a few pics indoors and have so far been on the auto setting. I am pleased with the photos it has produced.
