I just purchased the Pentax IstDL. I know you can look thru the viewfiender when taking pictures - and I know how to review the taken photos on the LCD screen. However - Is it possible to look at the LCD whenever "taking pictures" - or is it strickly for only reviewing photos? I just assumed that since it is a digital - you could look thru the viewfinder or at the LCD screen whenever shooting pictures. Any feedback would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jifner

With most of the current DSLRs like your Pentax you can use LCD screen only for reviewing images and menu browsing. OVF (optical view finder) is used for framing and shooting pics.

That is not your $.02, that is a fact. You cant use the LCD as a view finder like all PnS camera. The only dSLR that is out right now that can use the LCD as a veiw finder is the new Olympus E-330
