Default Compact Flash Cards Question

256MB CompactFlash Card (12x Speed)
256 MB CompactFlash Memory card
256 MB Compact Flash Memory Ultra

I have seen these cards listed with the 12x and the Ultra claiming faster responses. Is there a real difference between them and a standard card? Is there a difference in the image quality?
I would appreciate your views.

Default Viking / Ridata

Don't be swayed by price if you can help it.

Viking and Ridata cards are the best out there. They are the fastest and most reliable. The top is Ridata, but being the best, they aren't as available as others. Viking is a close second. Although the difference in speed is imperceptible.

Default Thanks, Ben

Check these links for compactflash tests performed on several different cameras:
http://www.robgalbraith.com/media/co...ash/index.html
http://www.dpreview.com/articles/mediacompare/

All compactflashes vary in speed according to which camera it's used in. So the most expensive, 1000x, hyper, mega speed cards can perform just as poorly as a cheap bundled compactflash if your camera can't write fast enough to it.

I am getting a Minolta S404. What do I look for or go to see if the Ridata CF card is compatible or as Matamoro points out, will this camera write fast enough with this card?

Marokero, my apologies for my mis-writing of your name, and thanks for the advice. (Uf da!.....long day at the ranch....!)
