Hi - I've just got my first digital camera, Casio Z600, today. However, I find that I can only take three pictures before getting the 'memory full', message. Is this right?
I have an SD card on order, but didn't think I'd need it so soon.
Many thanks.

Hi Pensioner!

I assume you don't use any card right now?
The Casio has an internal memory of 8.3 MB.

with an image resolution of 2.816 x 2.112 you can store:

Quality Fine -> 2 images
Normal -> 3images
Economy-> 6 images

resolution 640 x 480 (only usefull for use on a computer):

Fine -> 21 images
Normal -> 32 images
Economy->59 images

You really need an SD card!

Many thanks for that, your reply has been most useful.
I do think that the camera, as supplied, should be able to take a few more pictures than that, but I accept that this is the way it is.
Apart from that, I think it's a great camera.
Thanks again,

Colin

yeah, Casio decided to input internal memory.. but at only 8.3 MB, I don't see why they did it at all.. btw, how's the z600 working for you? i was considering buying it.

Hi - I have now installed a 1GB card which allows me to now take in excess of 300 pictures at a time (not that I'll ever need to do that).
It's so disappointing to get a brand new camera and find that, without extras, one can only take three pictures.
That's the only down side. The camera is an excellent bit of kit, good size and easy to carry around all the time, simple menus and set up for all sorts of situations and a huge LCD. Most important, it takes great pictures. No problems connecting it to PC or to pictabridge printer direct.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this camera. Got mine from Jessops for £149 post free. If you decide to get one I feel sure you wont be disappointed.
Good luck.

I've got this camera! It's brilliant!

I would recommend www.emartbuy.co.uk to buy your memory, it's cheap and mine came the next day.

Isn't it just. I get my memory from http://www.mymemory.co.uk/ also next day delivery and at today's prices about half the cost of the one you suggested. IGB at £14.99 and 2GB at £27
:-)
