Hi,

I have just been given my first digital camera by a friend as a present, (his old one) and am very new to this type of photography. My question is this....How do i delete the old pictures from the memory. I have been taking quite a few now, but wish to get these printed, and then clear the memory so i can start again.

My camera is a Samsung Digimax V800

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'll find a format menu choice that I'd suggest using. I always format my memory cards prior to evey use with a camera's menus.

That's just as fast as deleting the images anyway with most models, and always insures that I start out with a fresh FAT (File Allocation Table), just the way the camera expects it (since the camera is performing the format).

You can also delete indvidual images.

Go to this page and look for V800 and you'll find a link to the manual (it's the second model from the top right this minute):

Manual Download Page for Samsung Digital Cameras
