Default Olympus c-5050 zoom memory reccomendations needed

Greetings:

We have a new C-5050 and I am a digital dummy. We wish to upgrade the memory for the camera. Since our kids are involved in sports we take alot of "action" type shots so we need something with a quick recovery. My wife has been looking at XD cards and micro drives. Any input would be great. Thanks.

I suggest a large CF card. Over on eBay you can find some amazing deals on new large capacity CF cards. If you plan on shooting many pictures at 5-megapixel resolution then consider a 512MB size card. The prices have dropped radically in the last couple of months and these 512MB cards can be had for around $100 now. A new 256MB xD card would cost you more than that.

check www.********.net and www.newegg.com for pricing. Between 110 and 120 for 512 CF card.

Default XD vs. CF

What are the differences or upsides v. downsides with the Xd's and the Compact Flash cards? By the way, I appreciate your quick replies to my original post.
