G'day mate

I guess that 'photography' is like 'language' ... constantly evolving and assisted by technology
It's something to watch over the next decade or so

Has Lumix mirrorless & superzoom cameras and loves their amazing capabilities
Spends 8-9 months each year travelling Australia

I guess we could all agree that a photograph is an image created by light falling on a light-sensitive surface, such as film, or a ccd or cmos sensor. My question would be, is it considered "art" by enough people to effect a change in the direction of photography. My answer to that would be, of course not. There will always be the Van Goghs out there pushing the bounds further and further, but the vast majority will remain in the "safe" zone. Just my opinion, mind you. I think we all have one..

So the question is reversed from "Is photography art?" to "Is art photography?".
Easy answer.
This is what happens when art becomes the province of academics.
