Default Apple Aperture is dead.

As a long time aperture user this news really sucks!
Thanks Apple.

Glad I talked my wife into using Light Room instead of Aperture.

i just got a 7d mk2 and thought i would need a software change or go dng, but put the shots through aperture( apple has done a raw update) and they just load into pse9. great shame about the demise of aperture and not really sure its replacement is up to the job

I've heard from several people that the current version of Aperture doesn't support RAW files from the new Sony A7 II, and Apple won't do anymore updates. People will just need to wait until Apple introduces 'Photo' in April.

I got an email from apple 5th march saying it was no longer available so i think that also means no more updates. last raw update was 6th march. as i said before what a shame

There's Aperture update that can be done after updating to Yosemite that allows for A7II raw files to be read.
I had an opportunity to try out the new Sony 24-240 on an A7II and after the Yosemite update there is a apple digital camera raw version 6.03 I think. Anyhow I was able to process raw files.

good old apple they do like taking your money and then still think they own the hardware and can dictate what software you can and can't use.

They did the same with the iPad selling the Photo App and then stopping it working with iOS8 and no offer of a refund to users that paid for it.

Just as they Killed the ipad one and are now doing the same with the iPad two.

Glad I never got suckered into anything too expensive from them.
