Other than the difference in lens length, is there any other issue that I need to be aware of to make an educated decision on purchasing one or the other?

Seems like the big difference now is the $150 rebate is extended to Dec. 31 on the 5700 making the price of the two about the same, maybe a little less for the 5700.

Don't know about the 5400, but the 5700 is a nice piece of gear, just got mine and love it.

Thanks Raw-Hide, I think I am leaning towards the 5700, I like the wide angle feature of the 5400 but I can by the adaptor like I did for my 4500 and have the better features of the 5700 with better price.
