Greetings: I am looking at buying a 5700. Although it can be focused manually (like the Fuji S602 and the DiMAGE 7Hi), it doesn't have a focus ring on the lens like those two cameras do. How much of a drawback is that as far as the ease and speed of manual focusing is concerned? Would you prefer it if Nikon had the manual focus on the lens, or is the set-up they have as good ... or even better?

You should not buy the CP5700 if you really need a manual focus. you can however in i.e situations where you've got the time use the MF option on the coolpix - it is there. But if you're gonna use the MF for actionshots the CP5700 can not be recommended. The MF is much too slow to handle.
