Can you use coolpix 4500 to copy a photo?

My girlfriend has a wallet pic of her boyfriend who is in basic training. Is there a setup that you can use to effectively take a picture of it so she can give copies to his family? I don't have a scanner.

I'm new at this,
jim

I would just take a photo getting as close as possible to the photo. You might be able to use the macro mode also. If you can shoot it outdoors under diffused light that would be best. You may not be able to use the flash being so close to the picture indoors. A tripod could also be of help.

Thanks much for you suggestions. I bought a mini tripod and took the picture using the closeup mode in daylight and it came out pretty clear. So clear in fact that all the dust that was on the picture I was copying came out very clear also!

Thanks,
jim
