Today i sold a few nikons, the 885,990,5000,5400.I will keep my 5700,4300 and the 3100. I sold them off to make room for what i hope!! will be a new DSLR some what on the order of the film N80. I have a ton of glass for this camera and would like to be able to use it with what ever new DSLR nikon will bring out in the very near future. Tealblue

I see you have the coolpix 3100 and the Canon A80 can you tell me which of these you like better? I like the 3100 because of the different shooting modes but the stores are trying to steer me toward the A70 (which I believe is similar to the A80 you have).

Thanks for the post.My wife is the one that is using the 3100 about 90% of the time and it does a great job!! we love the scene modes. I tried the a70 and had to take back 3 of them each with the same problem  I love the a80 with over 1000 shots now and just about 100% perfect. This camera is easy to use and i just love the focus and color. IMO i would skip the a70 and get the a80 or for a little less the 3100 all those scene modes make things very easy, but you wont be able to learn very much with it like the a80 where you can go to manual and learn so much more!
