I now have a lens hood for my TC-E3 lens that works well. The only problem is the extra weight will not let it work on a tripod, it makes the lens rotate downward. Is there a simple cheap way to keep this from happening? Is there a plate or brace made that fits in the tripod hole below that blocks the body from twisting? Thanks in advance.

The EagleEye folks have a gizmo called the Wing. See my Eagle Eye review for pictures of it. I'm pretty sure you can order just that piece from them.
