I just got my Coolpix 995, according to Nikons website it should come with the MH-51 charger (charge time approx 2 hrs)..mine has this stupid MH-50 (charge time 6.5, however my new battery took 17 hrs), so was I cheated out of a charger?? Also all the pics I see of the 995 on this site have a purplish grip inlay...why does mine have red (maybe it was made in Russia).

Gadzuukz,
Where did you buy this camera? You're describing a camera meant for Europe, Canada, or elsewhere! The "red stripe" and the MH-50 is the giveaway. Big Caution: If you bought a "grey market" camera you may have trouble getting service unless you can prove you bought from an Authorized Nikon Dealer in the country of origin. So, if you have any recourse with your dealer, exercise it!! You can buy the MH-51 (or wait until the newer MH-53 hits the shops) at most any online photo dealer, like B&H or Ritz. Good luck... Jim |

Jim,
Thanks for your reply. I bought the camera from a Canadian dealer that is an authorized Nikon distributor, at least according to the Nikon website they are. The camera is new with the full 1 yr warranty, so hopefully Nikon would honor any warranty problems. What's this about a new MH-53??? Chages even faster than the MH-51?? Thanks again for your reply. Peace Zuukz |
