I`m a big fan of B&W pics and i`d like to upgrade from a D50 to a D80 .
It`s the possibility of taking B&W pics straight out of the camera with personal settings concerning contrast, sharpness and filters which is one of my main reasons to wanting to switch. Can someone tell me how good are the results straight out of the camera (no post treatment software) ? Maybe a few examples ? Thanks |

I personally have never used this feature. I prefer to do the conversion in post work. You can always convert to black and white, but if you shoot in B&W, you can't really convert it to color, and I prefer to have the choice. Plus, conversion using software is simple (there are numerous plugins and actions out there), and I'll be doing some post work on every image anyway, so I don't see shooting in B&W a big time saver.
