Several years ago, Ive purchased one of those battery grip packs for the D70 but was not happy with it - didnt seem to fit. So, now that I have just bought the D40, I would like to get a battery grip pack for it. But I need your suggestions for the one that will work best for the D40.

I think Hahnel makes a grip for the D40, but I have never used it.

I'm sure Nikon doesn't produce a grip for the D40, 40x, 60 cameras. It kinda defeats the purpose of the small form factor of the camera. The target market of this camera isn't likely to use a grip, hence it's lack of availability. 3rd party grips are of dubious quality and functionality at best. If you need a camera with a grip, the d80 is the cheapest choice.
