I will soom be getting a new Nikon D 200. My problem is that I understand that it can take Compact flash 1 and compact flash 2. As I am a serious amature photographer taking mostly scenic shots, is one recommended over the other.
2nd. In respect to the above mentioned, is it better to get a 2 gb or should I get a 4gb card. Or....... is it only a matter of choice.
3rd. For all around could shots, should I capture shots at full megapix. or should I shoot somewhere in between. My aim is too also get some of these shots into our local newpaper and other various publications. Of cource, the vast majority of the shots will be for my own personal use.

Hi IslandBear,

What is nice about the Nikon D-200 is you can shoot RAW & jpg at the same time. You will have a RAW file and a jpg file of the image you photographed.

I use two 2gb extreme III Sandisk cards, I also have two 1gb, one 512gb & one 256Ultra II CF Sandisk cards. They all work well on the D-200. If you can afford the 4gb Extreme III Sandisk card you should go for it.

When You get your D-200 my advice is for you to: "READ THE BOOK"

The D-200 is a great camera with features like auto ISO, auto WB, that really work for everything I have ever photographed. Get the SB-800Nikon speedlightwhen you decide on a flash unit. It will function TTL remote without wires using the pop up on camera flash as a master. Works perfect.
