I like the butterflies - a lot of shots seem to catch them at rest; to get one so colourful, in flight and sharp is really nice.

Congrats on getting your new D5100. It really is exciting getting a camera as sophisticated as the D5100. I hope it gives you great pleasure.

As for your first shots, Boy, you sure jump right into the fire don't you. Photographing birds and butterflys are probably 2 of the most difficult critters to try and capture. And, you did quite well. If you're anything like those of us who dive in head over heels to try and get the best bird shots, etc. you'll be looking at getting better (meaning more expensive) lenses. Try and hold off for a bit.

And, enjoy your new camera, take lots of photos, and post some more that you feel

So you want to be a better photographer? Open your eyes and take a look at what is all around you.
