Hello,

I normally like to use "Flash Setting" on white balance on my D70 but sometimes I would like the ablity to review the image using different white balance settings.

Since I am trying to do this after the fact (or photo) - is there any way I can see in photoshop 7 what might have been a better white balance setting. This way I can learn and then preset the camera.

Thanks for any insight.

If you shoot RAW you can set the white balance during post processing using either Nikon View (a free download from the Nikon website that replaces Picture Project) or with the Photoshop plug in that should have been loaded when you installed Picture Project or Nikon View.

You don't need a special plugin or RAW (NEF) mode. Just load the image into your software and use the color balance controls to adjust the color. In PSP, there is an "Automatic Color Balance" filter. I normally leave the setting at 6500K color temperature. This is the setting for bright sunlight. It will automatically adjust most photos to this setting. In some extreme cases, I have to change the value.
