I have a D90 and just picked up the cable to connect my Garmin eTrex Vista (black and white, not color).
I have had this Garmin for quite some time; it is probably one of the earliest versions of the Garmin eTrex Vista. There is an indication on the camera that it is recognized when connected but I have yet to figure out how to get the camera to acquire the GPS information and embed it in the picture data. What's the majic I need? |

There is a menu setting under the wrench icon that turns the "auto meter on". Presumably, this tells the camera to embed the GPS information into the EXIF data of the picture. I have no idea about the compatibility of the Garmin, but I do recall having to enable that setting to get my mi-GPS mini to work with the D90. Hope this helps.
