to the OP, if you have the budget, i would get the D7000. best of both D3100 and D90. of course youll have to wait a little bit because i just went to a camera store looking for one and the lady said they arent getting it for a couple weeks

the D3100 like someone mentioned already will be limited lens-wise

Nikon's 'auto focus' is still pretty crappy according to a few places I've read about it, Ken Rockwell's site was one of the places. Canon is well ahead of Nikon in DSLR video.
