Nikon D50 and sigma 18-125 F3.5-5.6 DC IF ASP

I would like to buy this sigma lens for my Nikon D50 but I heard from a friend that the 3D matrix metering works with nikon lens only. Please let me know is you have used this lens or any sigma lens on a nikon DSLR and checked if the 3D matrix metering works. Thanks

I've used a Sigma 50mm macro on two Nikon cameras. I don't know how you'd tell if 3D matrix metering works but matrix metering definitely works.

Just looked at the exif data on a shot and it says Lens:50mm 2.8 D so I guess 3D metering will work.
