Default expand?

I purchased a NIKON refurbished D5000 which has a number NOT recalled (per their recall search engine at... https://www.nikondealernet.com/saD5000/ ) but also, since it is a USA device and I travel, I purchased it together with an extended warranty (comes with 90 days from NIKON) from CPSCentral.com which claims to have worldwide coverage ...I have not had any trouble, so I don't know how well that will function.

Another thing. I am left handed and cannot use my right near my face. I wonder if anyone has any experience with aftermarket RF remotes for this camera which do not require line of sight like the built in IR remote feature? Look here: http://cgi.ebay.com/20M-Remote-Nikon...item3f05a20db9 (I do not shorten links since there's lots of malware in them...this way you can look at the URL before you go).

I didn't check the s/n

But I don't have any on/off issues.

Is my D5000 safe?

I bought it some time around 2010/2

I have mentioned this before but Nikon U.K told me that Nikon would repair any faulty switch F.O.C even out of warranty.
They had all the recall No.s on their website, mine was included so I had them fix it although it was working fine, the whole thing took 8 days door to door. With a free sensor clean and inspection.
You cant ask for more than that IMHO.
