Nope not at all, happy with Canon. I was talking generally as to what I would like to see in a camera, too much invested with C' to change and also I'm now at the stage where as long as I can do my job and make money I don't need the latest and greatest..... doesn't mean I don't like new toys, just I have to be sensible about blowing profits

I would have thought a 1DX would be just about perfect for you.

Sure, would be great, just not quite sure where to get the cash from...... it's new glass and lighting for me. Looking at 35mm f1.4 and 16-35mm f2.8 and then a large hi-lite from Lastolite as I'm offering photobooth sessions at weddings this year and have a few booked already with it. Not as exciting as a super fast camera but will create nice photos that people will buy so that's good.

I took mine just to get crowd/interest shots . A few days after I got a mail from my Godson asking if I got any nice shots as the pro ?? had lost all his shots through his card being corrupted??. Pity you didn't get to speak to him first Mark. The next wedding I went to was my Granddaughters so I covered all the pro's shots just to be safe. Just as well because he took them mostly at weird angles ie kneeling down shots up the Brides nose. She wasn't very impressed with a lot of them. He was reccommended by her Father who failed to take on board the fact that the pro was a racing event (cars/ motorcylcles) specialist ?? lol.

That's terrible, I hope they got a full refund? It's part of the reason I use 2 bodies as well as many cards, then in every situation I will have shot it on both bodies (admitedly with different lenses so the look is different) and then in each situation I will change cards so will only lose one aspect if everything goes horribly wrong. Obviously if it is the church that's a bit of a pain, also the groups I only do with one camera so again not ideal. Being a Pro is about acting professionally, sounds like their guy didn't. As for the 2nd wedding, that's why people really need to see how someone shoots weddings (and more than just one) to decide if they can do the job or not.
Hope you managed to get some shots to help the couples in both cases.

I dont know what happened about a refund but I did get some nice ones but not many of the standard wedding shots.
I think my Son in Law was trying to save money with my Granddaughters wedding, as this guy was a friend of his who just happened to be a pro photographer. I have done a couple of weddings myself but did not enjoy them at all, far to stressfull. All the very best with yours. By the way I've just noticed that the D800 also comes out as a D800E version as well which is a bit dearer.
