Dan Mason, my high school best friend from Oregon who has lived in Edmonton, Alberta for the past 30 years is visiting with me for a couple weeks. We always go places for Photo ops as he is a good photographer too. We were in my backyard shooting birds and as Dan said, he was bringing good weather with him. Here are some shots I got. Iryn was at Church, I was bad and stayed home.

Nice shots, Jack.
I'm glad that you posted your concern as I didn't catch your original post in May. Zig

Thank you Jack for thinking about me, I'm just busy at work and traveling. I really appreciate your concern, I will try to post more often. One from my last trip to the Faroe Islands during a very strong storm: ![]() BTW, beautiful Hummingbirds captures, you and your team have the right tools for this kind of shots..!! Stunning shot... love the lighted town in contrast with the storm. BTW, I got some very cool Osprey shots when my friend from Canada was here too. Too many pics of this to post (10) so I'll post a couple and you can see the rest on my website: http://1-4u-computer-graphics.com/Ospreys.htm Scroll down to this: Sequence (10 pics) of the Osprey scaring the Red-wing blackbird on the Lillie's diving in for catfish and flying off. This was the one I liked best, the Osprey is looking at the red-wing blackbird and saying get out of my way! ![]() This was cool too, where he was circling back toward me with the fish and into the trees: ![]() Now if I can just get a sequence like that with a Bald Eagle.

Beautiful Osprey shots Jack,
I visited a few weeks ago Shelter Island and I had some fun photographing Ospreys with my D810 and the Nikon 300mm f4 + 1.7 TC, not too happy with the results, unfortunately I sold my D7100 that was a really champion in this kind of situations. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by MarceloLI; Aug 16, 2017 at 9:32 PM. |

Thank you Jack, I think the D7100 keepers rate is higher than the D810 and of course sharper. Thank you for the comment.
