I have a Nikon 85mm F1.8 lens. I also have a Minolta MD 85mm F2 and a Tamron 90mm F2.5
I can test the lenses in daylight, high contrast to see if there's CA. As Jim said, it may be blooming on the sensor rather than CA in the lens. |

I think I just struck Gold.
I don't generally like to install and use the software that comes with a camera, preferring, instead, to use third party applications (Adobe PSE, PhotoME, MS Office Picture Manager, etc., and I HATE programs that try to organize my photos for me.) Faced with the prospect of pping masses of RAW files, I thought I'd install Nikon's ViewNX application. After playing with it for a while, I stumbled on a neat little tweak at the bottom of a list of useless tweaks: Axial Color Aberration. This little gem reduced the color fringing down to almost nothing with the click of a check box and the dragging of a slider! I have yet to see any undesirable repercussions, and I'll mention them here if I do, but I've found none so far. For now, though, I'm back to my original plan of shooting JPEG.

It's good you found a solution. I haven't tried to use viewnx in a long time...I found it to be clunky and slow. I was lucky enough to get a d300 with a full version of NX on it. I've used it sparingly, but after years of using photoshop, I just can't get used to the interface.

Now if only I could apply it to, say, 50 photos at a time.

If not for technology, I'd have to get a real job.
