Thanks to the fantastic advice that I have received from Digicam members, I sit awaiting the delivery of my Nikon D80. The 18-135 Nikkor and Tokina 12-24 lenses should arrive on the same day together with my SB-600 flash unit. My 4gig Sandisc Ultra2SD card is here and my spare batteries should arrive in a couple of days..."Well sorted".. as we Brits would say. Or maybe I should say "done deal" as I live in the US now.

Now my question. I fully understand that despite purchasing a fairly expensive setup, the quality of the results depends entirely on the skill and knowledge of theoperator, and I am a digital dummy.

I have seen various tutorial DVD's on offer on the internet and I amhoping that some kind member could point me in the direction of the most informative one.

All advice is appreciated as always.

Does it have to be a DVD? Are you looking for a "photography" guide or a "D80" guide.

If it's for D80, check out Thom Hogan's eBook. I have his D50 version and it's very helpful.

Here are other sites that might help you:

Nikon Online tutorial:

Canon's general DSLR Guide (Not Nikon, but very helpful):

Good Luck!

Thanks Rey,

For now I am looking for a D80 guide. Being new to the DSLR situation I thought that a DVD might be easier to follow. Many books use terminology that I do not yet understand.

I will check out the links that you suggest.
