Village visit 2013

Hi Friends

Here are few images from my new Nikon d5100. I do not know ABC of photography, but loves clicking :-) I'm not able to take good pictures in direct sunlight and under the shades. Most of the time I'm shooting in either A or P mode of d5100.

Thank you.

Wow, those are some beautiful shots! A question if you don't mind. What lenses do you have for your D5100? Did you shoot all these with the same lens or did you switch lenses? Thank you.

Thank you for the comments.
Yes, I use the same stock lens Nikor 18-55mm for all images. I wanted to buy a Panasonic fz200 for the long zoom, but due to lack of availability I had to go for d5100 with the kit 18-55mm lens and now I'm missing the zoom in it.

Yes, that's my problem too. I want the FZ200 for the size and convenience, but I am not sure that it is better than the FZ150, which takes phenomenal photos for what it is. I want to get the sharp crisp pictures that only a dslr can provide, but I am not thrilled about the money it takes to get the body and two good lenses. I understand why they cost so much and don't argue their price, but just can't afford to do that. Thank you for the info. Those shots are much better than I thought the kit lens could provide.

Some very nice pics, considering you say you dont know what you are doing.Just think how good they will be when you do.
I gave my Grandson my 18-55mm kit lens and it is a little cracker.I remember a survey said it was the best kit lens out there.
I'm also with 4mula1 regarding the FZ200 I think a lot of people out there hope for the perfect do it all camera, which is light and small with a long zoom , great for low light and Macro work. With stunning sharpness and very good at high ISO.
Sadly I dont think any of us will live long enough to see it (I hope I'm wrong) because it always is a compromise. Bridge cameras always come unstuck at high iso, DSLRs always come with a size and weight penalty. The 4/3rds are very expensive and dont really solve the problem, still having to swap lenses about. So it's all a compromise ,the only ones that are really happy are the specialist photographers, who take the same type of shot all the time.
If I can talk the other half into carrying it I may get the FZ200 as a back up.
Hows that for a cunning plan??

Outstanding photos, tack sharp. Your photos are really good considering that you said that you don't know anything about DSLR's. It only gets better after you learn all the wonderful features that the Nikon D5100 has. It's one of the best if not the best entry level DSLR's on the market today. Your photos prove this.
