I've now had the D800 for just over 12months and in that time I've taken 7500 shots, most of them crap but at least I'm back out taking snaps. I think I made the right decision switching to Nikon and going FF, even though I did run into that weird focusing issue at the start but luckily that's not occurred since. I had thought that 36MP was overkill for a long time but now that I have seen what you get its still breathtaking the amount of detail that are in the files.
The 2 cheap G lenses that I got on day one continue to impress and the files from the D800 are still great so no complaints there esp at the prices that both retail for. I need to add the 180 F2.8 and hopefully should be picking one up soon. I'd like a 28mm or the 35mm to add to the collection. I do miss the 4x3 format esp in portrait mode but the D800 has the modes to get around that and I need to start using it. Also wish the body was a little lighter but thats more than offset by the weight of the 2 G's. The duster buster seems to be working just fine so thats been really good. Hello HarjTT, Somewhere I can follow you in meaning missing the feeling of the E3. But stil the D800 is a great camera and I see that you handle it already pretty well. I will try to post some pictures within some months, time is a problem. Also W10 is a hell to work with, not stable at all, and importing images in Linux is not ever tried. Greetings, Pascal

Nice pictures Harj,
The benefits of the FF system has a price and that is weight but it is worth it. The B&W picture is fantastic..!! Marcelo |
