Can anyone explains me what are grey market cameras. In Pakistan D50 is too expensive as compare to US due to low demands. If I ask my cousin in US to send me a D50 will the Nikon dealers in my country repair the camera or will they refuse as happens with grey market cameras.

Thanks in advance.

If it ever needed a repair you could send it back to your Cousin to have it repaired by Nikon.

Gray market cameras are cameras that are sold in countries/regions other than where they were intended to be sold. Nikon will not service gray market cameras outside of their intended region of sale even if you are willing to pay for it. This is done to protect profit margins/dealers as margins differ from country to country.

Thanks guys for your feedback.

Ronnie if sending back the camera for any repair and then camera returning to me would cost me quite an amount, so I think I should buy the D50 in my country for $900. which is way too expensive as compare to US, but have no other option.
