If it's under warranty, get it fixed before the warranty expires. Electronics doesn't auto-repair so even if the problem appears to go away, it will come back outside the warranty period.

thanks again for the replies guys,

hmm waiting for it to go away is an option, i guess, but i would be damned if it showed up later after the warranty expires, so good point there keith

It looks sort of like a cluster of stuck (always hot/bright) pixels. But, that red line in the image is very strange. I'd send it back to them and let them fix it.
