Thanks for the advice * i must admit i'm getting alot of blurry pictures no matter what combination I try. I just tried the "p" mode with the flexible program but I also got blurry pictures and i have a very steady hand so i'm kind of stumped. john

You'll need to provide more info in order to get an accurate answer. What conditions are you shooting in?? Indoors, outdoors. low light, stationary subjects, people in motion, etc. Likely, your shutter speeds are either too slow to freeze the action or too slow to prevent handshake. Anything less than 1/30th will be difficult to handhold. Post a pic with exif info, and someone will likely be able to help you out.
