'Failed to transfer a file because unknown error has occured'

I just tried for the first time to transfer my photos to my PC. I followed the instructions that came in the box. I can see them all in thumbnail, but as soon as it tries to copy, I get an error.

I'm using XP Media Centre and Picture Project.

When I try to use it as a drive in Explorer, I get the error:

'Cannot copy DSC_0009: The parameter is incorrect'.

The first photo (which is way out of focus ) did copy. None of the others will.

HELP!

OK, I can't see the thumbnails (except 1 photo) in Explorer, but I can in Photoproject.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Problem solved... Bad SD card. It's replaced and it all works now.

My photos still leave a lot to be desired, but at least now I can play!

Thanks,

Dr. PITUK

It may not be defective. Try formatting the card using the Camera's menus for format.

I do this prior to every use with a card anyway, since it insures that I always start out with a fresh FAT (File Allocation Table) just the way the camera expects it (since it's performing the format). With most cameras, it's just about as fast as deleting the images anyway.

Thanks Jim,

I had originally formated it in the camera following the directions. I took it up to the camera shop and after some testing they decided to replace it. An advantage of buying local . They kept it, so I can't try a re-format.

Thanks.
