Hi Folks,

I'm a sports-shooter & had noticed the past 2 events (wrestling & basketball), that the D200 shutter was taking longer & longer to fire when pressed. I couldn't get to burst 3 or 4 shots in a row no matter what I tried - amping up the settings, etc. :O

Long story, short - I took it back to the camera shop where I bought the D200 body 3 months ago & they are shipping it back to Nikon. Thankfully, I still have my trusty D50 as a back-up.

Anyone else have problems with the D200 shutter mechanism wearing out?

Thanks in advance!

Nick

No such problems.

Just be sure the first thing you check is the shutter delay. You can set it to delay for approx. 4/10ths of a second. I do this if I want to prevent camera shake. You can tell if that's employed because the viewfinder goes dark.
