I want to buy a D200 Nikon DSLR. After checking the price, i am so confused...

For the D200 body, these are the pricings:

BroadwayPhoto: 1175.00

PrestigeCamera: 1156.00

USA Photonation.com: 495.00

DigitalLiquidators: 1210.00

Century21Electronics: 495.00

CCICameraCity: 475.00

Why there is wide range different in price? Is there any differences between these camera?

If anyone has any experiences about these cheap prices vs the quality of camera, please give some hints. I am clueless.

Sincerely thanks,

Long

Anybody selling it for less than 10% of what the vendors like B&H or Ritz are selling it for are CROOKS and are certainly not Nikon approved dealers, they are just scam artists. You can checkout any dealer BEFORE buying at:

http://www.resellerratings.com

You'll see all the ones you listed with the cheap prices have terrible customerfeedback ratings and are bestknown as Crooklyn NY dealers

Best price I've seen for the D200 body in Canada is $1779.00. Those really low prices seem too good to be true....and probably are.

I would be careful.

Sadly, I did not have access to the reseller ratings site before I purchased my D40 kit. I found out when I tried to register the camera with NikonUSA that it is a grey-market unit and will not be handled by NikonUSA for any reason. In the future, I will be dealing with B&H for major purchases. They may not be the lowest priced, but they don't pull any shenanigans either. I'm sure there are other good, reputable online dealers, but "Let the buyer beware" is valid now, more than ever.

B&H is very good but they also sell grey market if you want it. They call it international. Mostly I see it on Nikon lenses but I don't recall seeing "grey" bodies.

B&H also gives discounts to different agencies. I am a memeber on NAPP and get free shipping on most orders.

The other thing is many gray market cameras get sol LITERALLY body only....

No Battery
No Charger
No software,

No nothing just body.... now these scammers will sell you all that that would be in the USA version at exorbitant prices plus a third party warranty....

But when you add all that up.... near the same cost as the real thing, plus no manufacturer support.
