Is there a way in which I can force the flash to fire on my D50 whilst taking shots in daylight?

The D50's pop-up flash is released by pressing a small button on the left side just below the flash. The release button also doubles (logically) as the flash mode and flash exposure compensation control button. Hold the button and turn the command dial to change flash mode, hold both this button and the exposure compensation button to change flash exposure compensation (-3.0 to +1.0 EV). Make sure the flash isn't in cancel mode.

That's what I ike about this forum, quick and simple answers to my questions. I am not technical minded and have, I'm sure, lot's more questions to ask, but for the meantime I can carry on expanding my knowledge in the world of DSLR's. Many thanks....Booty...
