Hi Guys,

My bro is looking to buy a Nikon D40 and he has hit me with the following question:

"Technical question for you. Apparently there is not an auto focus motor built into the body of thed40 so if you want to buy extra lenses the lense itself must have the auto focus motor built in. Is this true? If so this mean that to add lenses will be more expensive on the d40?"

Thanks for the help guys

Matt

Yes, the lens needs a motor to autofocus on the D40. The lenses aren't noticiably more expensive, but the choice is considerably more limited.
