Default D100 Battery Life

I got a call from my camera store today and
will be picking up my D100 on the way home.
Can anybody tell me about the battery charge
life of the supplied battery (hours? shots?)

The store is back-ordered on the EN-EL3 and
I am concerened about just using one battery
until I can order more.

Thanks.

It will more than cover an average or above average day's worth of shooting with power to spare. You definitely want a spare but hopefully you will use it only rarely.

Default BATTERY LIFE

I've been using the D100 for a couple of weeks and have found the battery to give easily over 1200 shots and still looked good. Probably could have gone another 300 shots at least. Great battery. Low power drain from camera. I'll be testing it with a microdrive this week and will let you know.

Based on the current Popular Photography test reoport (sep issue), in the normal condition, you can take 400 shots before the low battery sign comes up. Nikon said 1600 shots (but based on their test standard), It will take at least 3 hours to charge the battery, B & H photo have the battery in stock right now for $45...the last time I check... If you're gonna take more than 400 shots anytime you're going out with the camera then, you will need a second spare battery, if not, I don't worry about it until the battery is at least 1 year old...cheers
