WooHOO!! The D300 is now available in some Canadian shops!

Now all we need are some test reports.

More news (Nov 28th):

Nikon has released firmware for the D3/D300 to shoot with D2X color modes to simulate color reproduction. Is it that different and worth the upgrade? (shrug)

The D3 has begun shipping and some have their D3's as of last Friday.

In the US are D3 buyers required to prove they are working photogs? Curious.

Nikon has done this before with their flagship cameras.

Does this mean they are doing the same thing in the US too?

.....Just talked to some one from B&H Photo. Found out that you don't have to prove you're a working photographer to pickup a D3 in the US. Funny how you DO if you're buying in Canada. Though, I don't yet know how strict Nikon Canada is about this. And if shops will sell you one anyways. Finding a way around needing to fill out a form. Hmmm...

musket wrote: Interesting. So far, it looks like you can just walk in to a shop and buy a D3 in the UK/US without any stipulations. All you need is to pony up the $. Yet, you do in Canada. Or so the Nikon rep told me at the October phtography show I was at. As I said I haven't been to a local shop to confirm. Still waiting for some test reports.
