Here's an ad for a new D80 (body only) for $219.00? Could this be legit? Has anyone used this company?

Suggested reading:

How to buy a digital camera without being robbed

You'll find customer reviews of the vendor you're looking at these links. Scroll down and start reading them. Then, then compare the tactics used to the tactics mentioned in the article I posted a link to.

http://www.resellerratings.com/store...rice_Cameras_6

http://www.resellerratings.com/store/bestpricecamera

Suggested vendor:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com

Or, if you want to save a few dollars more, depending on the exact configuration, also check out this vendor (but, I'd go with B&H if the price was close):

http://www.beachcamera.com or http://www.buydig.com

If you see a camera advertised for much less, caveat emptor. There are a lot of Brooklyn based scam artists around with nice looking web sites (they seem to be able to get away with it there).

Wow. Thanks for that info, saved me a lot of hassle. I found this post to be quite helpful from the above link... Dozens of people with the same complaints as well.

This operation is a total scam. They had 575 complaints with BBB as of 7/24/07 (and they are not even a member of BBB) see http://www.bbbnewyork.org/reports/bu....aspx?id=12668
Their scam is working in two typical ways. They lure you by a low price. When you buy a product they call you back and tell you that the product does not come with the batteries, charger, etc. (liars) and you have to pay extra. The second way is if you did not buy any of their overpriced accessories and bought only cheap main product, they email you stating that the product is out of stock.

Mr. Joey Saideh, who runs the operation is also running it under the names:
Best Stop Camera
Century 21
Digital EBuys
Hello Camera
Infiniti Cameras
Infiniti Photo
Infinity Cameras
J&K Cameras, Inc.
Mr. Accessory
Regency Camera
Regency Photo & Video, Inc.

The best price for a legit dealer for most items is Abe's of Maine. Very reputable, and they do what they say....PERIOD!
